Golden chariot for Goddess Padmavati soon

The temple of Goddess Padamavati in Trichanoor is all set to have a golden chariot for the Goddess for which the Tirumala Tirupati Devastanams (TTD) has sanctioned Rs. 12 crore. Traditional carpenters have completed the woodwork of the 60 ft. chariot and the gold plating works are yet to begin. The project is progressing under the supervision of Financial Advisor and Chief Accounts Officer Anita S Akella, after the jewelery and Treasury sections were brought under the control of FA&CAO.
The State Government, through the Endowments Department advised the TTD to take up the gold plating of all the temples in the State under Endowments Department. The TTD has taken up the task in view of the significance of religious works. The department is also taking up the gold plating works for Garbhalaya Gopuram of Kanaka Durga Temple at Vijayawada, Sri Suryanarayana Swamy Temple at Arasavilli, Sri Lakshminrusimha Swamy temple at Simhachalam and Sri Satyanaryana Swamy temple in Annavaram.
Priests of the Trichanoor temple and Deputy Executive Officer TAP Narayana on Wednesday performed Bhoomi puja for the construction of Theru mandapam adjacent to the Asthana mandapam of the temple.
