Dispatch of Laddus goes hi tech

The Joint Executive Officer G Balaramaiah said that a sophisticated facility has been set up in the famous temple of Lord Venkateswara Swamy for carrying Srivari Laddu prasadam from Potu to prasadam counters located on the banks of Swamivari Pushkarini. The Chief Minister, Dr.YS Rajasekhara Reddy will inaugurate the ultramodern conveyor lift system on September 15 and also present Pattu Vastrams to the Lord on behalf of the State Government on Dhwajarohanam day of the annual Srivari Brahmotsavams.

The lift was setup at a cost of Rs.1 crore donated by India Cements Chairman N Srinivasan who is also a member of the TTD Board of Trustees. The conveyor lift was installed over Sampangi Prakaram, the outer compound wall of the temple. The system that can carry 450 boxes containing 150 laddus each at a time will help reduce the manual work.

According to the JEO, the production of laddus can be increased with the commissioning of the conveyor lift as the space saved in the process can be utilized more efficiently. The authorities will deploy two supervisors, two clerks and 20 tray lifters for other works in the kitchen. He said that the Chief Minister will lay foundation stone for 100 more laddu prasadam counters.
