APSRTC to ply 19,650 bus trips for Navaratri Brahmotsavams

APSRTC Executive Director U Sudhakara Rao said that in view of Navaratri Brahmotsavams of Lord Venkateswara Swamy commencing from October 12, elaborate arrangements are being made to cope up with the pilgrim rush during the second Brahmotsavams of the year. He said 80 new buses would be added to its existing fleet of 385 operating on Tirupati-Tirumala ghat road. The APSRTC is planning to run 19,650 trips to carry an estimated 8.25 lakh pilgrims during the temple festival.
Special services will be run from Tirupati to Bangalore, Chennai, Coimbatore, Hyderabad, Visakhapatnam, Rajahmundry, Vijayawada, Ongole, Nellore, Kadapa, Kurnool and Anathapur by deploying additional 165 buses. APSRTC Return journey tickets between Tirupati and Tirumala will be issued at a concessional rate of Rs.44 which is valid for three days.
He further said that reservation to and fro from different parts in the State and Chennai, Bangalore and Coimbatore would be provided. Passenger amenities at the bus stations would be improved to cope up with the pilgrim rush. Information centres and control room would function round the clock.
