Lok Satta celebrates first anniversary

To focus on corruption

Every thing is ready for the anniversary celebrations of the new political outfit Lok Satta in Tirupati. Elaborate arrangements have been made for the public meeting at Indira Maidan. Speaking to media, the Lok Satta Party affairs secretary, P Rama Rao said the two day convention of the party would begin with the remembrance of Mahatma Gandhi on his birth anniversary.

He said that the State Executive Council meeting of the party will be held at Bheema's Residency. Four important issues are on the agenda that include political corruption, development of agriculture, strengthening of unorganized sector and campaign against belt shops. The Mahila Satta, a women's wing of Lok Satta has already launched a campaign for the closure of belt shops which are ruining the rural economy.

Lok Satta National Convener Jayaprakash Narayan will address the public meeting. State Party Election Authority chairman K V Reddy, State secretary, DVVS Varma, district convener T Janardhan Naidu and others will also spoke on the occasion. The convention in Tirupati assumes importance in view of ensuring municipal elections, the first after it becoming corporation.
