Boy kidnapped from school

No special privileges on Vaikunta Ekadasi and New Year

The series of kidnaps in the State causes much worry to the police department. Though the police department are making uncompromising efforts in this regard, another kidnap created a sensation in Tirupati.

A nine year old boy was kidnapped by a miscreant on Tuesday. He is studying third standard at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan School. According to police sources, G Srinivas son of G Swamy is studying in the school and he runs a bangle shop near Sri Govindaraja Swamy temple and is also a parter in the real estate business of his brother. Sources say that the miscreant is in dark complexion and of medium height approached the boy while he was in school and took him away on the plea that his mother was calling. The kidnappers telephoned his parents around 10.30am and demanded a ransom of Rs.5 lakhs for safe release.

The kidnappers called up the parents of the boy in the evening and threatened to kill him if they approach the police and media. Based on the complaint of the boy's parents, the police registered a case and are investigating.
