TTD Trust Board decides to build choultries
The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) Trust Board after a meeting on Friday has decided to build a Choultry for pilgrims at Tirumala with an investment of Rs. 30 crore and another by spending Rs. 52 crore. The Chairman of TTD B. Karunakar Reddy speaking to press said that the new Choultry would have 340 rooms and would be built at the site allocated for Koustubham cottages on the hills. The site was allotted beside the police quarters on the hills. Kaouthubham and another cottage complex Panchajanjyam would be built at a cost of Rs. 30 crores.
He said that in place of Choultry I opposite the Tirupati Railway Station, which was being demolished, a new one, Vishnu Nivasam with a state of art infrastructure would come up with an investment of Rs. 52 crore with a plinth of 4,1,156 sqft and 456 rooms and two or three Pilgrim Amenity Complexes, a bus stand and car parking.
The Vaikuntam Queue complex I having only 23 compartments would be extended by another eight compartments preserving the original design, he said.
