Nearly 9,000 couples to enter wedlock
The Tirumala Tirupati Devastanams (TTD) has made all arrangements for the Kalyanamastu programme to be held on August 26. According to sources, nearly 9,000 couples are set to enter into a wedlock in 294 Assembly constituencies in the State under the mass marriage scheme. The TTD Chairman B Karunakar Reddy said that the second phase of the programme has evoked an overwhelming response in the State. He said that the District Collectors have been asked to send the details of prospective brides and grooms applied for getting married under the scheme to the TTD.
He said that the TTD had taken all measures to ensure the smooth conduct of the mass marriage programme. A wedding feast will be thrown for eight lakh people including relatives of the brides and bridegrooms.
