TTD to set up three Vedic schools

Schools to come up in Anantapur, East Godavari and Vizianagaram
The Tirumala Tirupati Devastanam (TTD) has decided to set up three Vedic schools in addition to the existing one at Vedagiri on Tirumala to protect Vedic knowledge and ancient traditions and to propagate the same. The Schools will come up at Tadiparti in Anantapur district, Bhimavaram in East Godavari and at Vizianagaram.
The first Vedic school at Vedagiri in Tirumala was set up 120 years ago. Three more schools are coming up after a long gap. The Government in accordance with the existing norms has given permission to the TTD to recruit teaching and non-teaching staff to the upcoming Vedic schools.
According TTD sources, the teacher-student ration will be 1:5 and there will be six teachers under one head of the School. The process of recruitment will be given to the administrators of Sri Venkateswara Vedic University. The Principal of Dharmagiri will be in charge of these three schools. The Vedic school at Tirumala has 14 departments with 23 regular and 22 contract faculty members with a strength of 560 students on the rolls. The duration of the courses will be 3 to 11 years says TTD sources.
