TTD employees to be given house sites

September 9, 2006, Tirumala

TTD Chairman brings employee-welfare schemes

Under the chairmanship of TTD chief B.Karunakar Reddy, the newly constituted TTD Board of Trustees that met on Saturday has decided to provide individual house sites to all of its employees. The decision has come as a solace to employees who have been on a relay hunger strike for quite some time. Reddy said that house site would be given to all deserving employees within four months.

The Board has also resolved to hike the price of the laddu to Rs.25 each under the discretionary quota to overcome the loss of Rs28 crores which the TTD is incurring every year in its manufacture. However, the price of laddu being issued to pilgrims in the general queue lines and the Rs.50 special entry Darshan tickets remains same.

The Board also resolved to approach the State Government to amend the TTD act to facilitate employment of only Hindus in the TTD run educational institutions.
