APSRTC gearing up to meet Rush

In view of Lord Venkateswara annual Brahmotsavam at Tirumala, the Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) is making elaborate arrangements to meet the rush on the Tirupati-Tirumala ghat road and also from within and outside the State to the temple city. The Executive Director of APSRTC's Nellore-Kadapa zones said that the corporation plans to add 60 new buses to the existing 385 buses operating on the ghat road. Arrangements are being made to handle the estimated inflow of 7.5 lakh pilgrims for the Brahmotsavam and 17,600 trips are being planned. While 36 trains are touching Tirupati and Renigunta from different parts of the State and country, the railway at the request of the APSRTC has agreed to issue rail cum bus tickets to Tirumala at its booking counters.
