Abhishekam ticket price hiked to Rs.2500

Sudarsanam ticket counters at Tirumala to be closed
The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) trust board that met on Thursday has decided to increase the Abhishekam ticket from Rs.750 to Rs.2500 and the price of the most sought after astralankara seva was hiked from Rs.12,500 to Rs.50,000. The TTD maintained that it was done to make them available to ordinary pilgrims. The board clarifies that the hike applied only to such pilgrims who wanted to secure the tickets through the discretionary quota.
The TTD also decided to perform mass marriages to nearly 50,000 in TTD Kalyanamandapam on February next between 8am to 8.30am. In view of the increasing pilgrim rush, the TTD Chairman B.Karunakar Reddy decided to close down the online 'Sudarsanam' ticket counters at Tirumala. The board also decided to give extra two laddus inside the temple at Rs.25 each in addition to the normal laddus sold inside the Vikunatam queue complex.
