Colorful start of Tirupati Utsavam

TTD and TUDA makes special arrangements
The three day 'Tirupati Utsavam' was got off a colorful start on Sunday with the Chief Minister, YS Rajasekhara Reddy lighting the traditional lamp and symbolically tolling a bell at the Tirumala Tirupati Devastanam's (TTD) main venue of the event Mahanti Auditorium on Sunday. He underscored the need to showcase their mythological, historical, cultural and social facades for the benefit of posterity. He complimented the TTD and Tirupati Urban Development Authority (TUDA) for their efforts to conduct a three day Utsavam which will show case the glory of Tirumala for all the generations. He asked the TTD to shoulder more responsibilities in the developmental activities as nothing more can be expected from TUDA.
The TUDA Chairman, B.Karunakar Reddy said that efforts would be made for a systematic study of the evidences available of late that there were traces and relics of human activity in pre-historic period of the temple city. The TTD Executive Officer, APVN Sarma welcomed the guests.
