Police vehicle used for sandal wood smuggling operation
The Superintendent of Police, Chittoor VV Gopalakrishna on Monday suspended the Sub Inspector Y.Jayaram Naik and his camp clerk Sudhakar for alleged involvement in the smuggling of Red Sandal logs.
The Forest Officials confiscating a police vehicle near Tirupati for smuggling the Red Sandal logs. A departmental enquiry has been ordered in the entire episode. It may be recalled that this incidence happened while the Chief Minister, YS Rajasekhara Reddy's visit to the town on Sunday.
