e-Hundi at Tirumala launched by SBI

People donating money through ATM need not pay service charge
With the launch of e-hundi facility by the State Bank of India (SBI) on Monday, 20 million cardholders of the bank and its subsidiaries have to just swipe their debit card in any of the 5,600 automated teller machines (ATMs) across the country to make a contribution to the Hundi of Lord Venkateswara. The facility is also available for any of the schemes run by the Tirumala Tirupati Devastanams (TTD) management.
Apart from donations to 'Srivari Hundi', the SBI has volunteered to provide for other services like Pranadanam, Heritage Preservation Trust, Arogya Varaprasadani scheme and other schemes can be made through e-Hundi. SBI's Chief General Manager, Hyderabad Circle V.S.G. Chandrasekhar said that the customers making payment through any ATM will get a temporary receipt in the form of trasaction slip and at the back end, the bank will provide daily statements of the customers and their details to the finance department of TTD and basing on this, the TTD will issue an official receipt/certificate.
The Deputy General Manager (Tirupati zone) of the Bank, A Raghavendrachar said that the donations can be made on line from the Banks website.
