Tirumala Darshan ticket racket busted

In a major break through, Tirumala Tirupati Devastanams security and vigilance officials on Thursday busted a racket black marketing of darshan tickets. Investigating officials nabbed five persons in this connection who confessed that they had been doing it for a long time.

According to TTD Vigilance Officer, TV Siva Kumar Reddy, a 53-member group of devotes, mostly from North India in course of their South Indian tour, reached Bangalore after participating in the Maha Masthakabhishekam festival at Sravanabelagulla. They had contacted Green lands travel agency who in turn referred to Prakash, allegedly the kingpin of the five-member gang operating with Tirupati as base. He said that it was Prakash who arranged the darshan tickets for the tourists.

In incident came to light when he alert vigilance personnel at Vaikutam queue complex on questioning the pilgrim party, gathered the vital information on how they could secure such a huge number of tickets. The Tirumala Police launched a massive hunt for the prime accused person, Prakash. The police also suspect the role of some TTD staff.
