More pilgrims visit Tirumala on Tamil New Year Day Eve

Nearly ten pilgrims including two children fell unconscious and several others injured in a stampede that took place at the Vaikuntam Queue Complex II in Tirumala on Friday. The incident took place at 11am when many pilgrims tried to gain entry into the complex at the same time.

Entry into the complex is restricted at the moment because of the renovation works. The police and the TTD vigilance team tried to control the mob but failed to avert the incident. There was an influx of pilgrims in Tirumala on Friday on the eve of Tamil New Year.
