Padmavathi Brahmotsavam from Monday

The annual Brahmotsavam of Goddess Padmavathi which is scheduled to begin on Monday, Laksha Kumkumarchana was performed at the Tiruchanur temple on Sunday. The temple priests chanted her holy names for one lakh times offering kumkuma at the feet of the deity.
The rituals were performed as per the norms laid down in the Pancharatra agama, one of the two schools of thought in vogue in the Vaishnavite temples. Later, Rakshabandanam and Senadhipathi Utsavam were performed when the deity of Viswaksena, the commander in chief of Lord Venkateswara was taken in a procession around the temple.
An anonymous devotee from Chennai presented 'Ashtothara Lakshmi Haram', a huge golden necklace to Goddess Padmavathi.
