Vice Chairperson injured in bomb attack

The Vice-Chairperson of the Chittoor Municipal Council K Purushottam Reddy was injured when some unidentified persons attacked him with country made bombs at his residence on Wednesday. According to information, four scooter borne miscreants hurled as many country made explosives at him around 8am even as he was starting his two wheeler in front of his house on the Bazzar street in the district headquarters town of Chittor. The miscreants were later said to have sped away from the scene in their vehicles.

Mr. Reddy survived the attack and received serious injuries on his leg when three of the four bombs exploded after hitting the vehicle. He was rushed to the Government General Hospital for treatment and is out of danger. The police registered a case and investigating.
