Heavy rush of pilgrims at Tirumala

The temple of Lord Venkateswara Swamy at Tirumala is feeling the impact of the year-end rush. Tirumala town which has been reeling under the pressure of pilgrims for the past three days. The Tirumala Tirupati Devastanam (TTD) management was forced to go for Maha laghu Darshan in the morning to meet the situation and also dispensed with VIP break darshan.The management partially resorted to the laghu darshan system to clear off the pilgrim rush. Pilgrims had to wait for long hours to secure even basic accommodation. The situation was no different even at the post Padmmavathi guest house where only VIPs are accommodated.

According to the statistics available in the evening, the waiting time for the dharma darshan stretched beyond 52 hours and a couple of hours less for the pilgrims with the computerized Rs.50 Sudarshan tokens. The authorities expect the rush to continue till first week of January.
