Cloud Seeding flight lands in Renugunta

A special flight with the necessary equipment for cloud seeding in the Ralayaseema region landed in the Renugunta Airport today. The flight will drop Magnesium and Silver Iodide from a height of 35,000 to 45,000 ft which help in the cloud seeding process.

If the cloud seeding process turns to be successful, the Rayalaseema districts of Chittoor, Cuddapah and Anantapur will see some water and farmers will be rejoiced. The process is implemented by American-based company - Weather Modification Incorporation. Weather and other necessary information will be picked from the radar at Nandyala.

The Karnataka Government earlier rejected the landing of the flight at the Bangalore Airport and thusly the flight was diverted to the Renugunta Airport.
