October 11, 2004
Tirumala, Tirupati

The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam(TTD), after having successfully completed the annual Brahmotsavams is now getting ready for the Navaratri Brahmotsavams. The Navaratri Brahmotsavams begins on October 14, 2004 and ends with the Chakrasnanam on October 22, 2004.

As a part of providing high security, it was decided to install a Quick Reaction Time (QRT). This is the first time that the Temple Sanctum is protected with QRT system which is currently being deployed at the Mahadwaram. Over 3,000 police personnel, 1500 staff of vigilance wing, about 200 home guards, 200 NCC cadets, scouts and guides will be at Tirumala to monitor and will be a part of the security.

Security is also beefed up at the ticket counters and main entrances. RTC is requested to increase the number of busses that move to and fro to the uphill more frequently so as to facilitate pilgrims to move quickly.
